Bloomsburg Falls to West Chester in Women's Basketball

WEST CHESTER - The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to West Chester, 78-67, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup on Wednesday night.
The Huskies (4-15, 1-4 PSAC East) trailed by seven points in the first half, 14-7, but rallied and finally tied the score at 30-30 with 2:44 to play on a three-pointer from Laura Lyons (Hatfield/Pennridge). After West Chester (7-14, 4-2 PSAC East) went back in front by three, Lyons tied the game for a second time with another three-pointer with 33 seconds left in the half. The Golden Rams, though, hit a three-pointer with 16 seconds left to go into the break with the lead.
In the second half, West Chester stretched its lead to 11 points at 52-41 on a jumper from Dominique Lewis with 15:11 to play. However, the Huskies responded with 6-0 run, including a three-pointer from Gabe Miskinis (Lewistown/Lewistown), to get within five, 52-47.
West Chester then used a 9-2 run of its own to go in front 61-49 with 8:36 to play. The Huskies got no closer than five points the rest of the way and lost by 11.
Jamie Kauczka (Kingston/Wyoming Valley West) led the Huskies with 14 points, while Kelly Burkhart (Sayre/Athens) added 13 with Miskinis and Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) each scoring 12.
West Chester was by Justine Pfaff with 21 points, while Dominque Lewis chipped in with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Bloomsburg will host Millersville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
